On the morning of 30th, April local time of Ecuador, Wang Yulin, Chinese Ambassador to Ecuador, and Ji Xiaofeng, Chinese Commercial Counselor to Ecuador inspected Portoviejo Hospital and 911 National Safety Emergency Response Command Center of Portoviejo City, projects undertaken by CAMCE.
After the strong earthquake in Ecuador on 16th, April, the National Safety Emergency Response Command Center of Portoviejo city located in the severely afflicted area became the temporary command center for the relief efforts. No structural damage was found in the center except for partial ceiling’s dropping off and some minor wall cracks. Both Ambassador Wang and Commercial Counselor Ji spoke very highly of CAMCE’s construction quality, and praised CAMCE for it succeeds in setting up sound image for Chinese enterprises overseas.
Ambassador Wang and Commercial Counselor Ji accompanied by Yang Liang, General Manager of No.5 Engineering Department of CAMCE had a brief talk with President Correa and his Minister of Health, Foreign Minister and Minister of Security. President Correa and his Ministers expressed their appreciation to the support and help in the relief efforts provided by Chinese government and Chinese enterprises.
Afterwards, Ambassador Wang and Commercial Counselor Ji headed for the Distribution Center of Relief Supplies coming from China for work inspection. In the relocation area of Manta, they installed the China-aided relief tents together with Ecuador’s Minister of Security, Ecuador’s soldiers, local government officials and earthquake victims.
