Padma Water Treatment Plant Project in Bangladesh Constructed by CAMCE Entered into Service

  At 12h on October 3, 2019, the operation and maintenance team of Padma Water Plant of CAMCE in Bangladesh received the start-up instruction issued by the project employer Dhaka Water Supply and Drainage Authority. Under the orderly control of the dispatchers in central control room, the pumping station, the water purification plant and the pressurized pumping station equipment started running one after another. At 12h15, the Padma Water Plant entered into service to supply water to Dhaka.

  The Padma Water Treatment Project has already received Completion Acceptance Certificate issued by the Project Employer. CAMCE signed the maintenance service contract for six months with the Dhaka Water Supply and Drainage Authority. The operation and maintenance team quickly became familiar with the various conditions and process requirements after they entered the site and finished the equipment adjustment.

  The formal operation of the Padma Water Treatment will improve water quality for local people and relieve over-exploitation of groundwater in Dhaka area, which helps to achieve the sustainable development goals. It also marks that the project enters into operation period successfully from the construction period, which is the first attempt of CAMCE in operation business area of overseas water projects.
