BMH Leads Two International Standards Revisions

Recently, the 2026 series of meetings of the International Organization for Standardization Technical Committee on Cranes (ISO/TC96) were successfully held in Frankfurt, Germany. As the Chinese mirror committee for ISO/TC96 and its subcommittees SC2, SC3, SC4, SC5, SC8, and SC9, Beijing Materials Handling Research Institute Co., Ltd. (BMH), a subsidiary of CAMCE, organized 17 experts from China's crane and hoisting machinery industry to participate in the meetings on behalf of the Standardization Administration of China (SAC). BMH effectively advanced the international standards it leads to the next stage and took on the leadership of two new international standards revisions.

Experts dispatched by BMH chaired the ISO/TC96 plenary meeting, the ISO/TC96/SC4 subcommittee meeting, and four international working group meetings, fulfilling their roles as ISO/TC96 Chair, ISO/TC96/SC4 Chair, working group convenor, and project leader with distinction.

BMH, on behalf of China, proposed a new international standard proposal, Cranes — Intelligent systems — Classification, which drew significant attention from delegates of various countries. Following discussions, it was decided to establish an interim international working group for this proposal and to invite international experts to conduct related research. Regarding new international standard revision projects, BMH, building on preliminary research, proposed key technical revisions. With unanimous agreement from international experts, BMH successfully took on the leadership of two new international standards revisions: ISO 9928-1 Cranes — Crane operating manual — Part 1: General and ISO 4306-4 Cranes — Vocabulary — Part 4: Jib cranes.

Throughout this series of meetings, BMH actively voiced China's perspective and facilitated positive progress in the development and revision of 14 crane international standards led by China. At the same time, it also supported China in proposing two new international standard proposals and taking the lead in six new international standard development and revision tasks. BMH will continue to deepen its research on international standards in the crane and hoisting machinery sector, continuously contributing advanced scientific and technological achievements to support the high-quality development and global expansion of China's crane and hoisting machinery industry.
