The President of Guyana attended the handover ceremony of the Diamond Hospital of Regional Hospital Project
On June 8 local time, Diamond Hospital, one of the hospitals in Guyana built by CAMCE in EPC mode, was successfully handed over and officially opened. Guiana President Mohamed Irfaan Ali, Guiana Prime Minister Mark Phillips, Vice President Bharrat Jagdeo, Chinese Ambassador to Guyana Yang Yang, Commercial Counsellor Li Hanqing, Guiana Health Minister Frank Anthony and relevant government officials, as well as Chinese medical team and representatives of Chinese enterprises in Guiana, attended the hospital handover ceremony.
At the ceremony, Yan Hailu, Deputy General Manager of CAMCE, presented the golden key to the successful completion and operation of the hospital to Minister Anthony on behalf of the company. In his speech, he sincerely thanked the Guyana government and the Ministry of Health, the Chinese Embassy in Guyana, the China Export and Credit Insurance Corporation (Sinosure), China Construction Bank, and the partner Sinopharm International for their support and assistance to the project. CAMCE will give full play to its first-class professional and technical advantages in design consulting, strong resource integration ability, and long-term accumulated experience in international project management, to deeply participate in Guyana's economic construction and people's livelihood development, and contribute more to Guyana's social development.
Ambassador Yang Yang warmly congratulated the hospital on its opening. She stated that the six regional hospitals have been designed and built using highly-recognized and widely-used Chinese standards, utilizing China's most advanced medical equipment. Their deployment will provide important medical support for Guyana and is a milestone in the joint construction of the "Healthy Silk Road" between China and Guyana. The results of practical cooperation between the two countries are benefiting the two peoples. China is willing to continue to deepen practical cooperation with Guyana in various fields and jointly build a closer China-Guyana community of shared future.
President Ali spoke highly of CAMCE's first-class design capability, high standard quality control, efficient construction organization and high-quality performance capability. He pointed out that the Regional Hospital Project in Guyana is of great significance in improving the level of medical infrastructure and improving the medical conditions of the people, and is an important milestone in the development of Guyana's social livelihood.
After the ceremony, Yan Hailu accompanied President Ali and Ambassador Yang Yang to visit the hospital, gave a detailed introduction to the relevant medical facilities, and presented the design model of the newly signed project, West Merala Hospital in Guyana, to the President. President Ali expressed his expectations for future projects on the spot and encouraged the CAMCE team to continue their efforts and make greater contributions to Guyana's medical and health undertakings.
The Regional Hospital Project in Guyana is a landmark achievement of CAMCE in promoting the development of EPC business with design as the driving force, building an efficient industrial chain division of labor, and integrating the whole system.
