During June 16-18, the 2nd China-Central Asia Summit was held in Astana, Kazakhstan, marking a new chapter in the collective journey toward a China-Central Asia community with a shared future. Since the inaugural summit in Xi’an in 2023, China and Central Asian nations have achieved substantial cooperation milestones—among them, the Kazakhstan Jambyl Soda Ash Plant Project, EPC-contracted by CAMCE. Now, the 2nd Summit has arrived as scheduled, promoting the six countries to embark on a new journey towards building a China-Central Asia community with a shared future.

On the eve of the summit, CGTN Russian Channel featured the project in Episode 2 of its documentary series "Under the Same Tianshan Mountains." The report provided a comprehensive perspective through interviews with key stakeholders: Zheng Zhongping, General Manager of Sinosure's Strategic Clients Department I; Wang Bo, Chairman of CAMCE; Cai Xinghua, President of Bank of China Beijing Branch; Ismail Ceylan, CEO of Soda Ash & Derivatives at Turkey's Yıldırım Holding; and Ibrahim Ramazan, General Manager of Kazakhstan Soda Ash Plant. The documentary has been broadcast on CGTN Russian and major global social media platforms.

In his interview, Wang Bo emphasized that as one of China's earliest globalized central SOEs following the reform and opening-up policy, CAMCE has been an active practitioner and major force in advancing the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), having successfully implemented over 100 large-scale projects across more than 70 countries worldwide. For the Jambyl Soda Ash Plant project, CAMCE skillfully integrated China's industrial development experience with Kazakhstan's actual needs. By leveraging the strong research capabilities and industrial foundation of its parent company Sinomach, along with its own advantages in international operations, localized management, resource integration, and industrial output, CAMCE provided Kazakhstan with a forward-looking, holistic solution tailored to the country's development stage. Upon completion, the project will fill the gap in Kazakhstan's soda ash industry, reduce import dependence, drive the development of upstream and downstream industrial chains, and support the country's industrial transformation and economic restructuring. This project stands as an exemplary model of trilateral production capacity cooperation among China, Turkey, and Kazakhstan under the BRI framework.
