Scientific and Technological Innovation Yields More Fruits – High-End Passenger Ropeway Technology Projects Successfully Passed Acceptance Inspection

On July 3, 2025, two scientific and technological projects under the 14th Five-Year Plan, namely "Research on Intelligent, Heavy-Duty, Green Detachable Grip Passenger Ropeway Technology and Equipment" and "High-Speed Detachable Underground Personnel Ropeway System," undertaken by the Beijing Materials Handling Research Institute Co., Ltd. (BMH) with funding from the scientific research special budget of CAMCE, successfully passed the acceptance inspection by an expert panel. The smooth convening of this acceptance inspection marks the full-cycle completion of CAMCE's scientific and technological innovation system established at the beginning of the 14th Five-Year Plan, from blueprint to implementation. It provides robust support for maintaining BMH's leading position in China's passenger ropeway industry and actively participating in the global competition for high-end equipment. 

The acceptance inspection was organized by CAMCE's Department of Science and Technology Development. Attendees included Wang Bo, Chairman of CAMCE, Li Haixin, General Manager of CAMCE, and nine experts such as Huang Pengzhi, Secretary-General of the China Ropeway Association; Yan Hailu, Deputy General Manager of CAMCE and Chairman of BMH; Huang Yuefeng,Outstanding Contribution Expert of CAMCE and General Manager of BMH; Liu Wusheng, Outstanding Contribution Expert of CAMCE and Chief Engineer of BMH; and Luo Yuan, Director of the National Ropeway Inspection Center. Yan Hailu delivered a welcome speech on behalf of BMH, expressing gratitude for CAMCE's strong support for scientific and technological innovation during the 14th Five-Year Plan period and extending a warm welcome to the experts for their guidance. 

Wang Bo congratulated the successful acceptance of the projects and highly commended BMH's spirit of responsibility and innovation in tackling major scientific and technological tasks. He emphasized that the smooth acceptance of these projects lays a solid foundation for CAMCE's next steps in planning and deploying development in related fields during the 15th Five-Year Plan. As a key component of CAMCE's strategy to build a "one-body-two-wings" technology-driven specialized engineering company, BMH plays a crucial role in implementing the company's transformation, integrated development, and high-quality growth strategies. Wang Bo put forward four specific requirements for BMH:

First, adhere to a research-oriented approach to strengthen the institute. 

Second, uphold the "Four Orientations" of scientific research. 

Third, optimize the allocation of scientific research resources continuously, enhance collaborative and cross-disciplinary innovation with internal and external technological resources. 

Fourth, strive to compete with international top-tier ropeway products in global markets as soon as possible, becoming a shining emblem of "Made in China" and "Manufactured by SINOMACH." 

The two high-end passenger ropeway projects accepted this time are the first major scientific research projects supported under CAMCE's 14th Five-Year Plan scientific and technological innovation system. Targeting the demands of high-end cultural tourism ropeways, the ice and snow economy, and underground personnel transportation in coal mines, BMH's Ropeway Engineering Division completed technical breakthroughs over two years, designed and manufactured multiple core component test platforms, and established, debugged, and tested engineering pilot lines. These achievements elevate China's ropeway industry's common technology and quality foundation research to new heights, developing new passenger ropeway products with world-leading performance. The innovations significantly improve operational efficiency, safety, and comfort, filling domestic gaps and consolidating BMH's leadership in the industry. When introduced to international markets, these advancements will greatly enhance the global influence of SINOMACH's equipment brand.
