On August 19, H.E. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of the Republic of Uzbekistan inspected the Olympic City project, executed by CAMCE on an EPC turnkey basis. The President spoke highly of the project’s high-standard planning and high-quality construction results, affirming its core role in advancing Uzbekistan’s sports development.

Accompanying the inspection were Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov, First Deputy Prime Minister Achilbay Ramatov, Minister of Sports Adkham Ikramov, Minister of Construction and Housing and Communal Services Sherzod Xidoyatov, Vice President of the Olympic Council of Asia and First Vice Chairman of the NOC of Uzbekistan Otabek Umarov, Secretary General of the NOC of Uzbekistan Oybek Kasimov, Vice President of the Asian Paralympic Committee and Chairman of the Paralympic Committee of Uzbekistan Mukhtorkhon Tashkhodjaev, along with other senior officials from the Presidential Administration, the Cabinet, and heads of various sports associations.

President Mirziyoyev further outlined a grand vision to leverage the Olympic City as a hub for promoting nationwide sports development. Once completed, the Olympic City will serve as a premier venue for hosting major international competitions. During non-competition periods, it will efficiently support national team training, collaboration among sports federations and local sports schools, and public access—realizing the integrated development of competitive sports and public fitness. The President emphasized that the Olympic City lays a solid foundation for the healthy growth of the younger generation and future successes in international competitions. Uzbekistan will take this project as a model to promote the construction of similar Olympic centers across the country, achieving the core goal of holistic youth development nationwide.

In his meeting with Guo Zijie, Project Manager of the Olympic City, President Mirziyoyev highly commended CAMCE for completing the project with high standards and quality in a short period. He stated that CAMCE’s outstanding achievement—the Olympic City project—has made significant contributions to enhancing the traditional friendship between China and Uzbekistan. The Olympic City is only the beginning, and CAMCE will undertake more large-scale projects in the future, building a stronger bridge for economic, trade, and cultural exchanges between the two countries.

The inspection received widespread attention within Uzbekistan, with the President’s official website providing comprehensive multimedia coverage. The project’s completion has also been enthusiastically reported by local media, generating broad public discussion and anticipation.
