All Six Regional Hospitals in Guyana Constructed by CAMCE Successfully Handed Over
On August 22 and 28, 2025, the grand opening ceremonies of the last two hospitals—Lima Hospital and No. 75 Village Hospital—of the Guyana Regional Hospitals Project were held, marking the full completion and operational launch of the project undertaken by CAMCE under an EPC turnkey contract. The successful conclusion of the project was once again witnessed by Mohamed Irfaan Ali, President of Guyana, Yang Yang, Chinese Ambassador to Guyana, Minister of Health Frank Anthony, Minister of Finance Ashni Kumar Singh, and other senior government officials.
From the handover of the first hospital in June to the full operation of all six facilities by the end of August, this cross-regional medical network has already provided treatment to over 25,000 patients, delivered more than 220 newborns, and performed over 140 surgeries within just three months. Demonstrating both “China Speed” and “China Quality,” the project has vividly illustrated the joint efforts of China and Guyana in building a “Health Silk Road.”
The Guyana Regional Hospitals Project is a concrete achievement of CAMCE’s commitment to the 14th Five-Year Plan and its focus on improving people’s livelihoods internationally. It not only marks the successful entry into a new pillar market but also set a company record for the shortest time from contract signing to effectiveness. During implementation, the project became a model of CAMCE’s “Integrated Development” strategy, leveraging the headquarters’ strengths in commercial management, market expansion, and financing innovation, the professional healthcare architectural design expertise of China IPPR, and the project management experience of Jingxing International. This collaboration allowed multiple business segments to work in synergy, multiplying the effect of complementary advantages and generating significant strategic benefits.
