On December 11, CAMCE and the Sri Lanka Ministry of Irrigation signed the turnkey contract for Construction of Mahakithula Inlet Tunnel, Mahakithula & Mahakirula Reservoirs, Feeder Canal from Mahakithula to Mahakirula Reservoir in Sri Lanka. Mr. Anura Dissanayake, Secretary of the Ministry of Irrigation, and Guo Xiaodong, Representative of CAMCE, signed the contract.
The project is located in the Northwest Province of Sri Lanka, and is planned to build two reservoirs, a 940-meter-long water transmission tunnel, a 3.66-kilometer canal and related facilities in three years. As an important part of Sri Lanka's national water system, the project will benefit over 12,500 hectares of fields in the surrounding area, which can effectively improve the living standard of local people.
