From May 14 to 16, 2018, Cao Jianmin, the Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Chinese National People's Congress, paid a visit to Serbia with the delegation of Chinese National People's Congress and held the first meeting of the China-Serbia Legislative Cooperation Committee. Chairman of CAMCE（China CAMC Engineering Co., Ltd.）Luo Yan, member of the Foreign Affairs Committee of National People's Congress, participated in the delegation’s visit. During the visit, Vice Chairman Cao Jianmin met with Serbia's Speaker of the National Assembly Gojkovic and Prime Minister Brnabić respectively.
On May 15, Cao Jianmin, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Chinese National People's Congress, together with Arsic, Serbia's Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, co-chaired the first meeting of the China-Serbia Legislative Cooperation Committee. Luo Yan，Chairman of CAMCE Luo Yan attended the meeting and delivered a speech.
In a friendly and pragmatic atmosphere, the two sides exchanged in-depth exchanges on bilateral relationship, legislative association, cooperation in the fields of economic and trade, agriculture, and the humanities, as well as the experience of governing the country and the rule of law. At the meeting, Chairman of CAMCE Luo Yan delivered a speech on China-Serbia economic and trade cooperation and put forward three suggestions on inter-enterprise cooperation between the two countries.
The two sides agreed that the successful holding of the meeting opened a new stage of friendly exchanges between the two legislatures, reflecting the high level of development of bilateral relations. Both sides are willing to make positive contributions to the development of the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Serbia, on the effective platform of the China-Serbia Legislative Cooperation Committee, to strengthen the exchange of multi-field dialogues and legislative experiences, enhance understanding, deepen mutual trust and promote cooperation.
